Reviews

Muktinath is a sacred pilgrimage site located in the Mustang district of Nepal, at an altitude of approximately 3,710 meters (12,172 feet) in the Himalayas. It holds spiritual significance in both Hinduism and Buddhism, making it a unique center of devotion for multiple faiths.

For Hindus, Muktinath is considered a Mukti Kshetra (place of liberation) and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, known here as Sri Mukti Narayana. Pilgrims believe that taking a bath in the 108 sacred water spouts (Muktidhara) surrounding the temple absolves them of sins and grants salvation.

For Buddhists, Muktinath is revered as a site of the great Tibetan Buddhist sage Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), who meditated here on his way to Tibet. The eternal flames near the temple, fueled by natural gas, are regarded as a symbol of spiritual power.

Muktinath is part of the Chardham of Nepal, and its serene location amidst the majestic Himalayan peaks makes it not only a spiritual destination but also a place of immense natural beauty.
