At 4000 feet and 40 kms from Thiruvannamalai, Parvathamalai is a popular pilgrimage destination. It’s a small weekend getaway that involves hard-moderate trekking. Legend has it, the mountain came into existence when part of the Sanjeevani Parvat fell down while Lord Hanuman was carrying it. The trek is rather arduous but the picturesque views make up for all the sweat.
